HAM ❤️ VAR

For the first time in the history of Swiss agility, VAR will be used at the Helvetic Agility Masters. Our judges can count on the support of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) during all agility runs and the finals in the main arena.
We are delighted about this excellent new opportunity for our sport and about being able to take a further step toward greater sportsmanship.

🎥 What is VAR in Agility?

VAR is a camera-based video review system used to help judges make accurate decisions during dog agility competitions. It focuses exclusively on contact zones, including the see-saw behavior, and is not used for judging refusals or other course elements.

👥 Who operates the VAR system?

There are three key roles:

Role Responsibility
Video Operator Manages the camera system and playback. No judging authority.
Main Judge Has full decision-making authority. Can review footage or rely on assistant.
VAR Assistant Judge An FCI-licensed judge who reviews footage and may decide faults in assigned areas.
All three must be present on-site during the competition.

🕹️ How is VAR used?

  • VAR is triggered after a run if a contact zone decision is unclear.
  • The Main Judge may:
    • Review the footage personally.
    • Rely on the VAR Assistant Judge’s input.
  • If a fault is added or removed, the change is clearly communicated to the competitor and audience.
  • Communication among judges is discreet and efficient to avoid disrupting the event.

  • Ensures fairness, consistency, and accuracy in judging.
  • Helps judges make the right call in fast-paced scenarios.
  • Supports transparency without slowing down the competition.

HELVETIC GET-TOGETHER DINNER 🫕🍷🍴🐮

On Friday we invite you to the Helvetic Get-Together Dinner. This year we’re offering the most typical Swiss menu you can imagine. We start with a traditional aperitif platter, followed by an original Swiss cheese fondue and finish with a selection of desserts.
What you need to know:
🐮 for the less cheese-loving among you, there is a mushroom risotto as an alternative
🐮 a reservation in advance is needed for the dinner
🐮 booking a table for a whole group is possible (fill out 1 form for the whole group)
🐮 two time slots (18:30 and 20:00) are available to register for. Please make sure you choose a time slot that matches the schedule and your runs.
During the day, the kitchen team will cater for you in the restaurant. Relax and take a sunbath with a drink from the bar in the Helvetic Alpine Lounge.
🐮 NEW: The restaurant will serve you on Thursday, 14.08.2025 from 16.00 to 20.00.

We are extending the registration for the Helvetic Team Cup until Sunday, 10.08.2025, 18.00, due to last-minute changes with replacement teams.

Please remember, even if the Helvetic Team Cup is included in the entry fee, that EVERYONE who wants to run the team run MUST register. Nobody is automatically registered! Even if you haven’t found a team, you must register as an individual to run the team run. We will assign individuals to a team.

Further deadlines are:
⛔️ Thursday, 07. August 2025: Cancelations with a claim to a replacement team
✅ Sunday, 10. August 2025: Registration for HTC (either as within a team or individual)
✅ Monday, 11. August 2025 (08.00 PM): Last possibility to make any changes. Possible changes are:
✏️ Change of class
✏️ Change of club
✏️ Corrections to the master data (dog or human)
