Helvetic Agility Masters ❤️ VAR

After the success from last year, we bring the original VAR back to the Helvetic Agility Masters. Our judges can count on the support of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) during all agility runs and the finals in the main arena.
 
🎥 What is VAR in Agility?
VAR is a camera-based video review system used to help judges make accurate decisions during dog agility competitions. It focuses exclusively on contact zones, including the see-saw behavior, and is not used for judging refusals or other course elements.
 
🫂 Who Operates the VAR System?
There are three key roles:
🔹Video Operator: Manages the camera system and playback. No judging authority.
🔹Main Judge: Has full decision-making authority. Can review footage or rely on assistant.
🔹VAR Assistant Judge: An FCI-licensed judge who reviews footage and may decide faults in assigned areas.
All three must be present on-site during the competition.
 
🕹️How Is VAR Used?
VAR is triggered after a run if a contact zone decision is unclear.
The Main Judge may:
🔹Review the footage personally.
🔹Rely on the VAR Assistant Judge’s input.
If a fault is added or removed, the change is clearly communicated to the competitor and audience.
Communication among judges is discreet and efficient to avoid disrupting the event.

🔹Ensures fairness, consistency, and accuracy in judging.
🔹Helps judges make the right call in fast-paced scenarios.
🔹Supports transparency without slowing down the competition.

Team registration is done via the form on our website. Each person who wants to run the Helvetic Team Cup MUST register (for free). Teams can register, but also individuals who have not yet found a team. The latter will be assigned to a team after the registration deadline.
