Today we celebrate our national holiday and have been doing so since 1291.
 
Fancy more history on Swiss National Day? Then go ahead:
On August 1, Switzerland commemorates the Federal Charter of 1291, in which the cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden pledged to help each other in the event of danger from outside. According to legend, the representatives of the three founding towns – „the three confederates“ – took their oath on the Rütli meadow above Lake Lucerne. They pledged to free their country from the Habsburgs. The official federal celebration takes place on August 1 at this mythical site with an address by the President of the Swiss Confederation to the entire nation.

HELVETIC: What does it mean to you to judge at Helvetic Agility Masters and to what you look forward the most?

TAMÁS: Helvetic Agility Masters is one of the best and most popular summer agility competitions. Although I haven’t had the opportunity to compete yet, I am eagerly looking forward to participating in the event as a judge. I hope to return next year and compete, but until then, I can’t wait to experience as one of the judges the thrill of being on the green carpet of the amazing Swiss Dog Arena.

HELVETIC: Tell as a fun fact about you.

TAMÁS: I joined the elite group of judges who have fallen over the tunnels. It happened while I was judging the dogwalk; I remember ending up lying on the ground, watching to see if the dog hits the contact. The staff had to replace the tunnel afterward…

PAU: The Helvetic Agility Masters is one of the competitions you can’t miss to run at least one time in your life, the level of the competitors, staff and the venue is the best of the best and the atmosphere is unmatched, if you put all this together you will understand how I feel to judge this magical event. I look forward to whistle the first time in the Helvetic Agility Master and of course the famous party 😉
 
HELVETIC: Tell as a fun fact about you.
Traveling when you have to judge can be crazy, I always have travel stories and the most recent was that someone stole my small bag while I was taking the train to the airport so I had to report the police what happe, to see if I could travel and finally I don’t know how I ended up with some police officers who escorted me to the door
of the plane without any identification so I could travel.

HELVETIC: What does it mean to you to judge at Helvetic Agility Masters and to what you look forward the most?
CECILIA: Super honored to be a part of this team of amazing judges and a crazy start for my career as a judge abroad. I have wanted to come back to HAM since I competed myself at HAM 2021 but that I would end up coming back as a judge feels a bit surreal and a lot more nervously than coming as a competitor. Love the venue, the atmosphere and the whole team around the event, really looking forward!
 
HELVETIC: Tell as a fun fact about you.
CECILIA: Must be the memory of running in teams with Tobias Wust at HAM 2021. Who could manage to get eliminated when you basically can’t get eliminated? Also doing it while having the opportunity to run in teams with a world champion, in a class where the only way of really getting eliminated is by not realizing you missed a jump, and therefore not going back and correcting the mistake… Well yes, that would have been me! Maybe it’s a good thing I’m not running but judging instead, not sure I have recovered emotionally from that yet…

…but today we started sending out confirmations by e-mail. The confirmations will be sent from today until Sunday. By Sunday at the latest, all those who have registered will have received an e-mail with either a confirmation or notification of the waiting list. Thank you to everyone for their patience.

Note from the organizers (please read to the end)

We are more than happy about the great demand and were very pleased about it. At the same time, we feel very sad that we can no longer expand our capacities.

Therefore, with 400 places available, we will not be able to offer a starting place to all 600+ registrants. However, in order to give as many different people as possible the opportunity to take part in Switzerland’s greatest agility show, we have limited the quota of dogs per participant.

All those who have not received a confirmation by Sunday: Experience shows that many cancel their participation or do not pay on time, so there is a very good chance of moving up.
